TRANSCENDING FORM (Teaser above)

Transcending Form is a 75-minute live ballet created by choreographer JOHN BYRNE and includes a new art installation by artist DAVID LACHAPELLE (who also co-produced the show). An original dance fable, ‘Transcending Form’ explores ideas of life, afterlife, and the transcending soul. ‘Transcending Form’ is set to the music of Schubert, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky, and features live musical guests.

I had the pleasure of attending this show last night. The performance was gorgeous: emotional, sensuous, artfully erotic. I found myself moved by the experience as I imbibed it with passive acuity; my mind was free of thoughts yet I felt very reactive still—A rare and highly gratifying sensation, especially for someone like me so often unable to experience anything without frequent interruption from my voluble mind. Beautifully done.
